Northstar Real Estate
You know you’re in Northstar by the street signs. The streets of this bustling, family-friendly neighborhood located in North Davis are all named for birds. Mockingbird, Sandpiper, and Heron are nestled in a corner of lush greenbelt while encompassing Northstar Park – the heart of this active community.
The eight-acre park is home to two ponds – one with two observation decks (bird watching is big in Davis, for good reason) and one lined with yellow-flowering iris. There’s also an interpretive nature trail, large soccer field, and playgrounds. The nearby Northstar Pocket Park also has a play structure for kids.
The area’s greenery and expansive open areas is one of its main draws. The lush flora flows through the neighborhood, as each home is adorned with rich trees, shrubs and landscaping. The homes themselves are also aesthetic – ranging in size and style (from contemporary to traditional), but all well kept and cared for by neighbors who care about their community.
Several shopping centers and restaurants are nearby, as is the Davis Golf Course and Sutter Davis Hospital.
Davis is just 15 miles from Sacramento and is known to be one of the nation’s best cities for bicycling – boasting (at one time) more bikes than cars. It’s been recognized by the League of American Bicyclists and is home to the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame.
Known as a college town above all else, Davis is an ideal community for families, professionals, and retirees. Popular features include the U.C. Davis Arboretum and the Mondavi Center, which hosts many word-class performers. The year-round farmers market is also wildly popular. Held Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, the market was named among America’s Favorite Farmers Market by the American Farmland Trust. It also ranked among USA Today’s 10 Best Places to Visit a Farmers Market. A seasonal market is held at Sutter Davis Hospital.
